7 Decades of support
In 1954, The League of Friends of Teddington Memorial Hospital was established to offer personal services to patients and raise funds for hospital improvements.
In 2024, seventy years since its inception, The Friends commemorates a significant milestone of our continued support for the patients and staff of Teddington Memorial, our much-loved local community hospital.
As we celebrate seven decades of our support for compassion, care, and healing, we embark on a special initiative – “70 for 70” – an ambitious campaign to raise £70,000 for our 70th anniversary.
The Need for Support
Challenges Ahead
Despite its important history, Teddington Memorial Hospital faces modern challenges. Advances in medical technology, the need for upgraded facilities, and the increasing demand for specialised care require our attention and financial support to enable and enhance improvements above the NHS-funded baseline, helping to ensure the hospital’s long-term future.
The £70,000 Goal
To ensure our hospital continues to thrive, we’ve set an ambitious goal of raising £70,000 through 2024 and the coming years. This fundraising will initially be dedicated to four key projects:
- Pain Clinic. Funding patient experience features of the soon-to-be-established Pain Clinic
- Paediatric Area. The revamp of the hospital’s Paediatric and Teen areas
- Replacement wheelchairs. The provision of 3 new ‘transport chairs and their upkeep.
- Magic Table. Day Room improvements and a dementia patient ‘Magic Table’
