A message from the Trustees
As part of its ongoing engagement and communication with Members and the wider community, the League of Friends has events and meetings planned during 2020. In the context of the current Government advice relating to corona virus to avoid unnecessary social interactions, we have decided to postpone all such events for the time being. This includes our regular Coffee Mornings, AGM and Summer Fair event. Clearly the situation is very dynamic, and we will keep our plans under review, based on official Government advice.
During the coming weeks we will continue our support for Teddington Memorial Hospital and our local community. We will continue with our fundraising and working in partnership with Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare Trust to support projects to improve patient experience. This includes continuing to run our shop in the hospital which provides an important service to patients, staff and visitors. We are very grateful to our Shop Manager and our volunteers for the great job they are doing making sure the shop stays open.
These are challenging and uncertain times for all of us and The League of Friends are very grateful to the NHS and especially the team at Teddington Memorial Hospital who are working hard to manage the extra demands caused by the corona virus outbreak. Our priority for the coming weeks is to support them where we can, and this is only possible because of the continuing support and generosity of our members, volunteers and donors. We thank you all.
We urge everyone to follow the advice from the NHS and Government and whilst COVID-19 is a mild illness for most people, it can be very serious and we all must work together to keep everyone safe.
Any further updates on our work will be posted here and you can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
