Would you like to get more involved with a local charity, doing something that will help benefit the community?
The League of Friends of Teddington Memorial Hospital is seeking a volunteer to administrate its Gift Aid Declarations.
This will entail a few hours every couple of weeks, working from home, processing our Gift Aid claims with HMRC on behalf of donors. HMRC will then process the Gift Aid Claim and pass on the payment to our charity.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid give a charity an extra 25p for every £1 donated.
Gift Aid is an income tax relief designed to benefit charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASC). If someone is a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid increases the value of their charity donation by 25% because the charity can reclaim the basic rate of tax on the gift at no extra cost.
The charity can claim the Gift Aid online and receive the payment within five weeks.
The Charity must keep a record of the declarations for six years after the most recent donation they claimed Gift Aid on.
Donations are claimed by the charity on an online schedule spreadsheet, with a maximum of 1000 donations per spreadsheet.
Full training and support will be given for this role, however a background in finance would be helpful.
If you are interested in being part of a wonderful local charity, that raises funds to enhance the services and equipment at Teddington Memorial Hospital and would like further details please contact: info@friends-tmh.org.uk
Many thanks and we look forward to hearing from you.
