The HANDS Charities Fair was held on Twickenham Green on Bank Holiday Monday, 25th May 2015. This annual event aims to promote volunteering by providing an affordable venue and the opportunity for individual charities and voluntary organisations to raise funds and publicise their activities.
This was an enjoyable day out for local families with more than seventy stalls selling a variety of goods. These included plants, toys, home produce, jams, cakes, gifts, books and bric-a-brac. Refreshments were available together with a barbecue, while a variety of activities were provided to interest and amuse children.
Further information about the HANDS Care Group Twickenham will be found on their website.
League of Friends Activities at the Fair
The League of Friends had a stall to provide information about the League’s activities in support of Teddington Memorial Hospital. Considerable interest was shown in the Richmond GP Out of Hours Service, while a number of people showed interest in becoming volunteers and several donations were received.
In summary a very enjoyable and worthwhile day for the League and its supporters.
