The League’s Volunteers Supporting the Nursing Teams at Teddington Memorial Hospital

The League of Friends received a request from Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust, the Trust who manage Teddington Memorial Hospital, enquiring if our team of volunteers would be able to make headbands for the staff to wear, as they have been getting sore ears from the elastic on their face masks. Each headband has a button on either side where the elastic from the mask can be hooked around, which helps prevent sore ears.

The League put out an appeal to our team and were thrilled with the response received. Our volunteers and their friends and family have been busy sewing and now produced over 500 headbands for the nursing team to wear. But not only have they made headbands, but also 70-80 protective visors and several scrubs bags too.

The nursing teams are working really hard to care for patients at Teddington Memorial Hospital and such support really makes a difference. The personal cards of thanks and the knitted nurse were so thoughtful too and very much appreciated.

For the team to know they are being thought of and that we are truly grateful for all they are doing to care for our local community, really makes a difference.

A huge thank you to all of the nursing teams for their hard work and dedication in caring for our community and to all of our volunteers and supporters for truly caring.

We are so lucky to live in such a wonderfully community.
