The League has provided a range of practical equipment to support the rehabilitation exercise programmes offered to patients. This includes a selection of dumbbell weights, TheraBand resistance bands, large gym balls and comfortable chair cushions.
Practical equipment
Although these are relatively simple pieces of equipment, they are making a valuable contribution to the quality and variety of exercises that can be offered to patients. Having a wider range of equipment gives the rehabilitation team greater flexibility to tailor exercises to individual patients and their needs.

Patients enjoying the equipment
Most importantly, patients are enjoying using the new equipment. The combination of different weights, resistance bands and gym balls provides opportunities for patients to work on strength, movement, flexibility and confidence as part of their rehabilitation.
The chair cushions are also helping to make exercise sessions more comfortable, supporting patients to participate in exercises where additional comfort and support may be needed.

Our commitment
The equipment forms part of the League of Friends’ wider commitment to supporting patient care and rehabilitation at Teddington Memorial Hospital.

By funding practical equipment and improvements, the League helps hospital teams provide a better experience for patients and enhance the services available locally.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supports the League of Friends through donations, fundraising, membership and volunteering. It is this community support that enables us to respond to the needs of patients and staff and fund items that can make a real difference.
Seeing patients enjoying and benefiting from the new equipment is a wonderful reminder of the impact that community fundraising can have.
Thank you to everyone who helps make this possible.
