Yesterday, a moving Remembrance service took place at the war memorial outside Teddington Memorial Hospital.
Members of the local community, staff, volunteers, and patients gathered together to remember and honour those who served their country and gave their lives in times of war and conflict.
Proud to be Represented
The League of Friends of Teddington Memorial Hospital was proud to be represented by one of our trustees, Ann Murray, who laid a wreath on behalf of the charity.
This act of remembrance reflected our deep connection to the hospital and to the generations of local people who have been part of its story since it first opened. The memorial was erected in honour of those who lost their lives in the First World War, and has been the focus of the Teddington community’s remembrance ever since.

Moving Ceremony
The ceremony included a reading of the traditional words of remembrance and a two-minute silence, observed with great respect by all who attended.
The stillness of the hospital frontage during that moment was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by so many, and of the continuing importance of remembrance in our community.

Special Significance
For many who work and volunteer at Teddington Memorial Hospital, this annual event holds a special significance.
The hospital itself stands as a living tribute to the values of service, compassion, and community spirit, the same values that guide The League of Friends in our work today.

Caring for One Another
Taking part in the Remembrance service is one small way we can honour those who came before us and reflect on the enduring importance of caring for one another.
The League of Friends is proud to support the hospital’s patients, staff and local residents, ensuring that the spirit of remembrance and community continues to thrive at the heart of Teddington.

We will remember them.
